Biography

Rim’s is a self-taught artist inspired by street art and the pop art movement. His medium is digital painting. His artistic career has been shaped by his unique vision and distinctive style. In 1986, his professional acting training laid the foundation for his journey, but it was when he turned to teaching drama at the high school level in 1994 that he found his true calling. For 25 years, he directed numerous stage productions, allowing him to explore shadows and light in a theater that focused more on images than on text, unconsciously drawing him closer to visual art. This immersion in the world of creativity pushed him to explore new horizons, and in 2021, upon retiring from teaching, he also trained in screenwriting and comic book creation.

Rim’s artistic influences are diverse, reflecting his creative versatility. Artists such as Banksy, Gerardo Labarca, Claude Monet, Niko, and Andy Warhol have fueled his imagination and helped shape his unique artistic style. Rim’s primarily focuses on expressing human and animal figures in close-up, playing with colors inspired by pop art but softened to evoke a sense of poetry. His work on movement adds a dreamlike quality to his compositions, making them both vibrant and captivating, with a contemporary touch.

Over the years, Rim’s has participated in numerous exhibitions, both collective and solo, steadily making his mark in the world of contemporary art. Notable past exhibitions include a group show at the Platina Community in Boynton Beach, Florida, in March 2023, the St-Hyacinthe (Qc) Symposium in April 2024, and his solo opening in June 2024 at Presse Café in Chambly (Qc). In August 2024, he was a finalist in the competition organized by Arteria Gallery (Qc), aiming to be exhibited at the Affordable Art Fair in New York.

Beyond accolades and achievements, Rim’s seeks to communicate an emotional story through his art. His works represent self-transcendence, the moments when one pauses to savor the present. His motivation lies in the ability of his creations to evoke emotions, bring smiles, and spark memories. For him, art goes beyond mere aesthetics; it is a means to inspire others to become better and to take pride in their own growth.
